If you go the Parallels route you need to be sure you're getting at least 16GB of RAM on the new Mac.īut ultimately, it all comes down to what you do and run on your current PC that determines how easy of a time you'll have with the Mac. However, I'm guessing part of why you want to go to a MacBook is for the new M1 Macs, and the Parallels software is still in beta testing for that.so not quite ready for prime time but almost. Especially if you have certain PC-only programs you still need to run. If you are getting an Intel-based MacBook and not the new M1 you can use the 3rd-party Parallels Virtual Machine software to literally clone your existing fully-intact Windows system into a virtual ship-in-a-bottle.apps in all, to run in a virtual machine. The Windows->Mac Migration Assistant that comes up with a new Mac is fairly convenient in getting most of your basic pics and docs, email, off your current PC.
